Reuters to join forces with IHT
by Zuzana Moravcova

The International Herald Tribune is about to inaugurate a daily 'Business with Reuters' section in print and online next year. "It's certainly a very interesting first step from just being passive - as service providers - to becoming true strategic partners with our biggest clients," said The Reuters Media managing director, Monique Villa, who added that the move had been planned for months. The IHT executive editor, Mike Oreskes, believes they are inventing something new and exciting for both their audiences. "We are combining the very best of two of the best journalistic organisations on earth to produce a global report on finance, economics and business of the highest calibre. It is difficult to imagine a moment when this matters more." The 'Business with Reuters' section will publish news analysis and comment from business writers and columnists of IHT, Reuters and New York Times and more global investor insights. Michael Golden, publisher of the IHT and vice-chairman of the New York Times ensures us that we, as their internationally-engaged readers and advertisers, will benefit greatly from the significant enhancements this journalistic cooperation is going to bring to the global business news offering, especially online." The cooperation deal is now being verified by European and U.S. regulators and is expected to be complete in the beginning of 2008.
