Richard Branson uviedol na trh digitálny časopis Project určený pre iPad

Britský podnikateľ Richard Branson, známy najmä svojou Virgin Group pozostávajúcou z približne 400 spoločností v utorok slávnostne uviedol na trh digitálny časopis pod názvom Project. Časopis bol navrhnutý špeciálne pre najnovšiu a zatiaľ veľmi úspešnú ´hračku´ spoločnosti Apple, iPad. Časopis, ktorý bol verejnosti po prvýkrát predstavený verejnosti v New Yorku je výsledkom spolupráce Virgin Group s britským vydavateľstvom Seven Squared. Časopis bude dostupný prostredníctvom intern! etového obchodu spoločnosti Apple App Store za 2,99 dolárov. Project sa bude venovať témam týkajúcich sa zábavného priemyslu, technológie, sveta podnikania a iných. Richardovi Bransonovi sa podarilo dosiahnuť prvenstvo čo sa týka publikovania formátu navrhnutého špeciálne pre iPad, pretože i spoločnosť News Corp. Ruperta Murdocha pracuje na iPad publikácii pod názvom The Daily. Na vedení Bransonovho časopisu „ktorý sa tvári ako life-stylový časopis no správa sa ako internetová stránka“ sa bude podieľať jeho 29-ročná dcéra Holly Bransonová, manažérka špeciálnych projektov u Virgin Group a Anthony Noguera, šéfredaktor. „Pokiaľ ste priekopníkom v novej oblasti a pustíte sa do toho s vervou a štýlom, dáva vám ! to výhodu,“ povedal Branson. „Budúcnos&#! 357; pat rí výrobkom ako je iPad.“ Titulná strana prvého vydania časopisu je venovaná hercovi Jeffovi Bridgesovi, hviezde filmov ako Big Lebowski či Crazy Heart. Na margo Murdochovho The Daily Noguera hovorí: „Nie sme si podobní. Oni sú denník. My sme mesačník zaoberajúci kultúrou a štýlom. Želáme im všetko dobré do budúcnosti.“ Tlač už dlhšie opisovala vzťah medzi oboma publikáciami, lepšie povedané oboma magnátmi, ako vojnu, no a na to Branson zareagoval slovami, že Project má jednoznačne navrch. Takisto povedal, že v budúcnosti bude možno časopis dostupný aj mimo iPad. „Sme v tejto oblasti noví, tak ako ktokoľvek iní. Uvidíme ako to pôjde,“ povedal Branson na tlačovej konferencii. „Budeme sledovať ako iPad rastie a budeme r&! #225;sť spolu s ním.“

Richard Branson unveils iPad magazine called Project

British industrialist Richard Branson, best known for his Virgin Group consisting of about 400 companies unveiled electronic magazine called Project Tuesday. It was designed specifically for the iPad, Apple´s most recent and so far very successful gadget. The magazine, launched in Manhattan, NY, is a joint venture of Virgin Group and British publishing company Seven Squared. The magazine will be available at Apple´s App Store for $2.99 per issue. Project will cover topics regarding entertainment, technology, business and others. Richard Branson managed to be the first one to deliver a publication designed specifically for iPad as also Rupert Murdoch´s News C! orp. has been working on iPad publication called The Daily that sould cover general national news. The Branson´s product that „looks like a style magazine and acts like a website“ will be headed by his 29-year-old daughter Holly Branson, special projects manager at Virgin Group, and editor-in-chief Anthony Noguera. “If you’re the first mover in a new area and do it with great panache and style, it does give you an advantage,” said Branson. “The future will be on devices like the iPad.” Title page of the first edition of the Project magazine is dedicated to actor Jeff Bridges, star of the Big Lebowski and most recently Crazy Heart. As far as Murdoch´s The Daily is concerned Noguera says: “We are not similar.“ “They’re a daily newspaper. We are effectively a monthly style-and-culture magazine. We wish them nothing but luck.” The press has been labeling the relationship between the two publicati! ons as a battle, to that Branson was quick to say that Project! would b eat Rupert Murdoch´s publication. He also said that the magazine might be available even beyond iPad in the future. “We’re as new to this as anybody else is. We’ll have to see what happens,” Branson said. “We’re going to watch the iPad grow and grow with it.”
