Richard Branson uviedol na trh digitálny časopis Project určený pre iPad by Zuzana Zelenakova

Britský podnikateľ Richard Branson, známy najmä svojou Virgin Group pozostávajúcou z približne 400 spoločností v utorok slávnostne uviedol na trh digitálny časopis pod názvom Project. Časopis bol navrhnutý špeciálne pre najnovšiu a zatiaľ veľmi úspešnú ´hračku´ spoločnosti Apple, iPad. Časopis, ktorý bol verejnosti po prvýkrát predstavený verejnosti v New Yorku je výsledkom spolupráce Virgin Group s britským vydavateľstvom Seven Squared. Časopis bude dostupný prostredníctvom intern! etového obchodu spoločnosti Apple App Store za 2,99 dolárov. Project sa bude venovať témam týkajúcich sa zábavného priemyslu, technológie, sveta podnikania a iných. Richardovi Bransonovi sa podarilo dosiahnuť prvenstvo čo sa týka publikovania formátu navrhnutého špeciálne pre iPad, pretože i spoločnosť News Corp. Ruperta Murdocha pracuje na iPad publikácii pod názvom The Daily. Na vedení Bransonovho časopisu „ktorý sa tvári ako life-stylový časopis no správa sa ako internetová stránka“ sa bude podieľať jeho 29-ročná dcéra Holly Bransonová, manažérka špeciálnych projektov u Virgin Group a Anthony Noguera, šéfredaktor. „Pokiaľ ste priekopníkom v novej oblasti a pustíte sa do toho s vervou a štýlom, dáva vám ! to výhodu,“ povedal Branson. „Budúcnos&#! 357; pat rí výrobkom ako je iPad.“ Titulná strana prvého vydania časopisu je venovaná hercovi Jeffovi Bridgesovi, hviezde filmov ako Big Lebowski či Crazy Heart. Na margo Murdochovho The Daily Noguera hovorí: „Nie sme si podobní. Oni sú denník. My sme mesačník zaoberajúci kultúrou a štýlom. Želáme im všetko dobré do budúcnosti.“ Tlač už dlhšie opisovala vzťah medzi oboma publikáciami, lepšie povedané oboma magnátmi, ako vojnu, no a na to Branson zareagoval slovami, že Project má jednoznačne navrch. Takisto povedal, že v budúcnosti bude možno časopis dostupný aj mimo iPad. „Sme v tejto oblasti noví, tak ako ktokoľvek iní. Uvidíme ako to pôjde,“ povedal Branson na tlačovej konferencii. „Budeme sledovať ako iPad rastie a budeme r&! #225;sť spolu s ním.“

Richard Branson unveils iPad magazine called Project by Zuzana Zelenakova

British industrialist Richard Branson, best known for his Virgin Group consisting of about 400 companies unveiled electronic magazine called Project Tuesday. It was designed specifically for the iPad, Apple´s most recent and so far very successful gadget. The magazine, launched in Manhattan, NY, is a joint venture of Virgin Group and British publishing company Seven Squared. The magazine will be available at Apple´s App Store for $2.99 per issue. Project will cover topics regarding entertainment, technology, business and others. Richard Branson managed to be the first one to deliver a publication designed specifically for iPad as also Rupert Murdoch´s News C! orp. has been working on iPad publication called The Daily that sould cover general national news. The Branson´s product that „looks like a style magazine and acts like a website“ will be headed by his 29-year-old daughter Holly Branson, special projects manager at Virgin Group, and editor-in-chief Anthony Noguera. “If you’re the first mover in a new area and do it with great panache and style, it does give you an advantage,” said Branson. “The future will be on devices like the iPad.” Title page of the first edition of the Project magazine is dedicated to actor Jeff Bridges, star of the Big Lebowski and most recently Crazy Heart. As far as Murdoch´s The Daily is concerned Noguera says: “We are not similar.“ “They’re a daily newspaper. We are effectively a monthly style-and-culture magazine. We wish them nothing but luck.” The press has been labeling the relationship between the two publicati! ons as a battle, to that Branson was quick to say that Project! would b eat Rupert Murdoch´s publication. He also said that the magazine might be available even beyond iPad in the future. “We’re as new to this as anybody else is. We’ll have to see what happens,” Branson said. “We’re going to watch the iPad grow and grow with it.”

Pouviez vous croire que même certains présidents d'état et premiers ministres ont été placés sur la liste des plus grands ennemis de la presse, que le groupe de surveillance de médias "les Journalistes sans frontières" lance toutes les années. Parmi eux on peut trouver les chefs des plus grandes forces du monde la Russie et la Chine, la Corée du Nord, le Sri Lanka, et à l'opposé la pauvre Rwanda. Bien, qui serait étonné de voir Vladimir Putin sur la liste, quand presque chaque meurtre dans le pays qui a été condamné contre un journaliste ou un politicien, relève du soupçon qui M. ! Putin n'a pas aimé cet homme. Il a créé une fierté nationale artificielle « qui encourage la persécution des dissidents et des libres penseurs », le rapport a informé. Ce groupe basé à Paris nomme 40 « prédateurs de la liberté » et cette liste est venue comme un avertissement de la Jornée de liberté de la presse mondiale. « Ils sont puissants, dangereux, violents et couverts par loi. Ces prédateurs de la liberté de presse ont la puissance de censurer, emprisonner, enlever, torturer et, dans les plus mauvais cas, d'assassiner les journalistes" - a dit les leaders des Journalistes sans frontières. Megju niv se i liderite na najgolemite svetski sliki Rusija i Kina, Severna Koreja, Šri Lanka i otsptotiva, siromašnata Ruanda. Dobro, koj bi bil iznenaden da go vidi Vladimir Putin na listata, koga rečisi sekoe ubistvo vo državata koe bilo napraveno protiv novinar ili političar doagja pod somnenie deka g-dinot Putin ne go sakal toj čovek. Can you believe that even some state presidents and prime ministers have been placed on the list of the press biggest enemies, that the media watchdog group Reporters without Borders each year comes up with. Among them are the leaders of the biggest world forces Russia and China, North Korea, Sri Lanka, and the opposite poor Rwanda. Well, who would be surprised to see Vladimir Putin on the list, when almost every murder in the country that was convicted against a journalist or politician, comes under the suspicion that Mr. Putin didn’t like that man. He created an artificial national pride “that encourages the persecution of dissidents and freethinkers", the rep! ort informed. This Paris-based group names 40 “predators of the freedom” and the list came as a sign of marking the World Press Freedom Day. "They are powerful, dangerous, violent and above the law. These predators of press freedom have the power to censor, imprison, kidnap, torture and, in the worst cases, murder journalists" – say the Reporters without borders’ officials. According to journalist’s opinion one of the most dangerous countries which a professional journalist and reporter would like to avoid if one wants to keep his head on the neck, definitely is Mexico. In the last ten years, sixty two journalists have been murdered in this country. That is definitely a number worth to be paid attention and not to neglect it. Sometimes the fight for some bigger goal is simply not worth it, when you have to put your head in a bag. Over 30 Palestinian journalists have been molested and threatened by Israeli Defence Forces. And we come to the m! oment of the hypocrisy – the president of Sri Lanka as a! matter of a good will and congratulation on the Press Day, released one journalist that had been sentenced to 20 years. He has been imprisoned for writing an article in which he blamed the government that provokes racial hatred. I mean, this is good for the man that finally is on freedom, but what message does that country gives us?

For the first time Pulitzer award goes to the website by Milota Sidorova

The stereotype in which a prestigious Pulitzer Prize was connected with traditional print newspapers has been broken this Monday. The award for investigative reporting was given to on-line media ProPublica. As the award winning article was chosen Sheri Fink's “The Deadly Choices At Memorial”, the piece about controversial deaths at a New Orleans medical center in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. This piece was unique, because for the first time it was a case of so called “collaborative journalism”. Fink kept working on the article with the New York Times Magazine for almost two years.This fact provides a new point of view on on-line media. So far, the ! most of them were just a synonym of gossips and mediate journalism. On Monday the first sign on recognition was addressed to such media form – for instance, on-line media are much more flexible if it comes to reaction timing, collaboration or payments. Giving a writer this kind of free will at collaboration with traditional media, it could offer an article of two year's work. That wouldn't be rentable in press media. No one would keep one man on one article for such long time. Besides, almost every (if not all) of press media have their own web sisters. This way they are adjusting to the market where on-line information are not a case of sitting experience. With extending wi-fi connection, users of smart phones and internet devices are more likely to get to on-line press information 24/7.It is not the case of killing each other or a battle internet vs. press, but more likely it is about transformation and finding the common dialogue in really speeded up environment.
